Replacing the blinker bulb in most cars is relatively easy. But if you don’t feel 100% confident in doing it yourself, just bring your car to AAA Million Auto Parts to complete the service for you. If you decide to replace it yourself, follow these easy steps:
-
Open your hood and locate the area your blinker is housed in (depending on your vehicle you may need to unscrew the mounting screws to remove the headlamp or turn signal housing before replacing the bulb).
-
Remove the electrical connector by pushing down and then back on the locking tab.
-
Remove the defective bulb by turning it counterclockwise (you may need to pull the bulb straight out or push the bulb inwards while turning).
-
Install the new bulb (be careful not touch the new bulb’s glass because the oil from your fingers can cause the bulb to fail prematurely). If the bulb has alignment pins on the bottom, ensure they align with the corresponding openings.
-
Reconnect the electrical connections and replace the housing if necessary.
-
Turn on your vehicle and test the turn signal to ensure the replacement bulb is working
