🟡 NEW / GOOD CONDITION

Color: Clear, light yellow, or very pale gold
Meaning:

  • Fresh brake fluid

  • Moisture content is low

  • Optimal hydraulic performance
    Action: Safe to keep using

🟠 FAIR / AGING

Color: Medium yellow to amber
Meaning:

  • Fluid is aging from heat cycles

  • Moisture is increasing slowly

  • Still functional but performance is weakening
    Action: Plan replacement soon (within service interval)

🔴 BAD / NEEDS REPLACEMENT

Color: Dark brown or tea-colored
Meaning:

  • High moisture content

  • Performance reduced

  • Can cause brake fade, corrosion, and internal wear
    Action: Replace brake fluid ASAP

⚫ VERY BAD / CONTAMINATED

Color: Very dark brown, black, cloudy, or sludgy
Meaning:

  • Fluid is severely degraded or contaminated (possible rubber debris, dirt, or corrosion)

  • Can damage calipers, ABS pump, and master cylinder
    Action: Immediate flush recommended; inspect brake components
